Publishing with CTE

For Authors

What we publish, how we assess proposals, and how to send us your work.

What we publish

CTE publishes academic books and edited volumes. We are particularly interested in rigorous research with a clear contribution to its field, written for readers beyond a single examination committee.

Call for proposals: Advances in AI Applications

Advances in AI Applications is an edited series on the application of artificial intelligence across disciplines, including healthcare and biomedicine, sustainability, finance, education and engineering. The first volume is in preparation.

We welcome chapter proposals based on postgraduate and early-career research, including work that began as a master's or doctoral dissertation. Chapters are expected to be developed from the original work into a self-contained book chapter, not reproduced unchanged.

What to send

  • A working title and an abstract of up to 300 words
  • The full manuscript, dissertation or paper on which the chapter would be based
  • A short biography of each author, with institutional affiliation
  • A note on any prior publication or submission of the work elsewhere
  • Confirmation that all co-authors agree to the proposal, and whether your supervisor has been informed
  • Where relevant, details of research ethics approval and any data-use agreements

How we assess proposals

  1. Editorial assessment. An editor reviews the proposal for scope, quality and originality.
  2. Review. Proposals that pass the first stage are reviewed by at least one reviewer with relevant expertise who is independent of the authors.
  3. Decision. We accept, request revisions, or decline. Our reasons are given in writing.
  4. Development. Accepted chapters are revised with editorial support before copy-editing and production.
CTE does not guarantee publication to anyone. Editorial decisions are made on academic merit alone and are never influenced by payment or by any third party.

Rights and agreements

Before publication, every author receives a written agreement setting out copyright, licensing and the author's rights in the work. If a version of your work has been published before, we will ask you to confirm that you hold the necessary rights to republish it.

How to submit

Send your proposal by email to info@cambridgetexteducation.com with the subject line “Proposal: [your working title]”. We acknowledge every proposal we receive.
