Our history
CTE was incorporated on 18 February 2016. Between 2018 and 2021 we published An Introduction to Western Moral Philosophy by Michael Langford, together with the CTE Chinese Annotated Classics: editions of classic English texts with key passages and points of difficulty marked and difficult sentences translated into Chinese, each prepared and checked by several editors.
After a pause in activity, CTE resumed publishing in 2026 with a focus on academic books and edited volumes.
What we stand for
We believe a small publisher earns trust through careful editing and plain description. We say clearly what each of our publications is: a monograph, an edited volume or an annotated edition. We never guarantee publication, and we keep editorial decisions separate from any commercial arrangement.
Independence
CTE is an independent company. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the University of Cambridge, Cambridge University Press or any other university.
